Morning and first of all welcome to my new follower JANE.We have a new ATG challenge at Crafting With Friends sponsored by KJ Arting-----Now what do you see when you look at my card???a simple no-nonsense CAS card???WRONG I will say through gritted teeth and a fixed smile this is the THIRD attempt at a passable card and still not convinced I have managed that!!!
I printed out two images this one-"Pretty Fish Bubbles Friends" and a cameo one with intentions on using that-coloured them both in using promarkers-and preferred this one so covered the complete image in versamark and clear embossing powder and liked the result--should have stopped there TBH.
I then used two water and anchor image papers and some die cut foliage-didn't like the effect so took those off and tried something else--peeled everything off and stuck the image and sentiment on 3-D foam on a plain card and walked away!!!
Spellbinders dies and sentiment computer generated in Dafont.

Lovely! Thanks for joining us in our Anything Goes Challenge at Digi Choosday
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it is so frustrating when a project just won't go your way! Your gorgeous fish turned out beautifully though Carol, with lovely layering, and not a hint of the 'unplanned'! Very cute! Thanks for sharing it with us at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenges!
ReplyDeleteLinda
I know your pain! LOL The final result is worth all your angst. A wonderful fishy dcard for our challenge. So pleased you sharaed it with us at Alphabet Challenges. Caz DT.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I sort of lost the plot here because I have just spent the last half and hour on YouTube watching vidoes about boiling leaves and paper. All very interesting and super cool results - your papers look fabulous. I have noticed that they seem to use white vinegar in the States for all sorts of cleaning products and I suspect they buy it in gallon bottles and it is much cheaper than here, umm.
ReplyDeleteI love the card with the two little fishes, wouldn't they make a lovely anniversary card? Some days you can really struggle with a design but I think this turned fabulous, so stop worrying. Lots of lovely layers and that super cute image. Really fun card.

PS Apologies if I have gone all American sounding on you, it's the effect of watching all of those videos!
Your card is so adorable. These fish are stunning with your coloring. You are so creative. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteA very cute and fun card. I love the fish.

ReplyDeletewowzer oh you love to experiment and this is one fab result. Good on you, looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteLove your fishy card too.xx
Well, your final result turned out just delightful, but I could totally understand your aggravation, as I do the same stuff. Love how you did the 'wave' border at the bottom, and corner design with the foil paper under. So your final effort looks pretty successful to me! TFS the Eco Prints (new to me!) this looks so interesting (and I hope that link will give me some more info when I have time to surf videos!)How cool to turn rubbish leaves from your lawn into something so textured and unique! Bet this will make some fabulous cards. I'm still dealing with comment issues and think I know why it might be happening, but don't know how to fix it -- yet! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteYour card turned out great, thank you for joining us this week at Digi Choosday.

cute little fishies -thanks for joining us at Lemon Shortbread!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comments about Candy Bear.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking about haveing a go at boiling papers and have popped plain watercolour paper to my Amazon basket (but I still need to track down the bulk white vinegar). However, I have a long list of things I want to try and this will have to join the queue. I really want to have a go at rock painting and I need to make a stack of CAS masculine cards (not my favourite as you know). In the meantime there is the knitting!
Best wishes.
Dionne x
PS I suppose boiled papers would make a good background for masculine cards, emm I must think about that.
Beautiful card
ReplyDeleteI cannot draw either Carol. However, I am thinking of trying my hand at both napkin decoupage and manadalas - I have never done either. I have also been wondering whether you can stamp onto a smooth rock. x
ReplyDeleteLove the sentiment and your coloring of your fishies are great. Also love reading about the changes crafters make before their final project is complete...I'll sometimes do this myself and of course adding to my stash for maybe another time...lol. Thank you for joining us at DOUBLE TROUBLE for this Challenge and hope you return for future challenges. Haven't tried that boiling paper technique but know our craft group will be looking into it. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHello... it’s so lovely to see you have shared one of your gorgeous cards with us. Thanks for entering your card into our ‘Happy Birthday’ Challenge. Good luck in the draw and hope you will come back again soon.

I hate when you just can't get a card to come together! I like the blue and white combo and the edge detail for the sentiment really has a water feel.

ReplyDeleteThe subsequent time I learn a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I imply, I do know it was my option to learn, however I actually thought youd have one thing fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about one thing that you would repair for those who werent too busy searching for attention. casino games
