Looks a Bit Fishy

I bought a fish stencil from That's Crafty which I thought would be ideal for my eldest son who has a degree in Marine Biology and also breeds fish-this is actually the second one I made as the first one I made landscape and thought oh oh the frame is portrait style-so I made another--think stress must be getting to me as when I finally put it in the frame realised it could be either way !!!!!Will blog that one another day.

I used texture paste(ready mixed DIY filler-a large pot from the £1 shop)through the stencil and when dry sprayed with Decoart sprays and then gold Cosmic Shimmer Gilding wax to make the fish stand out then used scrabble letters for his name and then framed it for a gift.

  6. Very dimensional with the paste effect and I really like how the spraying intensified the colors - The spots of color look very like sun passing through the water would create colors and shadows, and the name letters, very cool! TFS & Hugs

  33. Wow, this is amazing! The embossing, the color mix -- love it! Art pieces that are typically considered masculine do so often appeal to me the most. But then I swoon over pretty flowers and giggle over cute cards. Really, I love it all!
