Morning and we have a new Happy Birthday challenge at CCC Digi Creations sponsored by Craftin Desert Divas and I used the sponsor image "Soccer Boy" you also get a pre-coloured image too.I used the black and white image coloured with promarkers, enlarged the football and printed three times then fussy cut them all out put them onto 3-D foam pads, the grass strip was recycled packaging saved by my grandaughters(got them well trained lol)stamped sentiment was craft mag freebie and the die-cut rosette was amongst some football die-cuts kindly gifted from Michelle. This will probably go to my football mad grandson on his 3rd birthday later this year.
Thank you the cataract op went well but when he went in the woman next to me started complaing about how long she was waiting last time as a man with dementia had to be calmed down before his op and they shouldn't have brought him!!!-the waiting room was full so I just sort of grimaced and went back to my mag--but looking back sooo wish I had said something-because as a couple of you know John was diagnosed with early Alzhiemers and vascular dementia nearly two years ago -although he is still compliant with the all medical treatment/scans and such he has had it could be him in the future and does that mean he should be denied treatment???

Adorable image and such a cute masculine boy card! The grassy papers look fabulous on your layout too!! Glad the op went well for hubby and I think some people just don't understand and speak without thinking. Best wishes for you and hubby hun!! HUGS
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I did not know about John and I'm sorry to hear it. What was that woman thinking??? You showed amazing reserve saying nothing. Now, your card... perfect for your 3 yr old football-mad grandson! The grassy strip sure came in handy. Soccer was a big deal to my son and our family when he was in gradeschool. Always on a team and lots of hours being a soccer mom.
ReplyDeleteWhat a super cute and fun soccer card for some young lad! Love the grass panel too! Sorry for all the drama associated with waiting for that cataract removal, but hopefully things ended well for you both.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very nice card.

I love your footy card, it's perfect for a little one, he will love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your hubby. Yes! people are insensitive, I just hope she doesn't have experience of this awful illness. I know too many people who have or are experiencing it. There but for the Grace of God go I, she should remember that.
God BLess you and I hope this year will be good to you and hubby.

So pleased to read that John's op went well. That lady in the waiting room should count her blessings that she has not experienced dementia first hand.
ReplyDeleteI love this card, great colouring and the grass panel looks fab.

Carol I am so glad to hear that John's surgery went well, and so shocked at how insensitive people can be!

ReplyDeleteA super card Carol, perfect for your football mad grandson.
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased that the cataract op went well but sorry to hear that John has been diagnosed with Alzhiemers and Vascular dementia. How upsetting to be subjected to such an insensitive person, unfortunately there is always one, we had to develop a very thick skin when taking our son who has autism to appointments when he was young - I find it is usually best to just ignore them.

Great sporty card. So glad you participated in our Challenge and we hope you'll join us again. Want to leave your with an inspiration from the Bible in Isaiah 55:6-7 which says, "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
ReplyDeleteLet the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon." Have a wonderful week.
