I have a card to make for eldest sons birthday, admittedly not until next month but for the last week I have had the card fold, stamps even ink pads on my desk and I know what design I want just no inclination-how pathetic does that sound lol.
So to try and get inspired I made a tag not turned out how it was in my mind but there you go at least it was finished!
I inked up the tag and stamped a couple of Bees-the corrugated card/honeycomb piece and zigzag piece are all pieces of packaging, the flower box was cut from an oddment -the little wooden Ladybird and ribbon was from stash and the Bees are Chocolate Baroque stamped onto painted card leftovers with glossy accents on wings.
NOW we come to the splatters---which were made with Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Watercolour New Gold- a few went on the tag BUT my desk and glasses look perfect lol !!!

I can relate to the brain funk when trying to create these days! In hindsight, this creation turned out to be pretty fabulous with all those layered elements and bees! I love the "honeycomb" panels behind the bees- very creative!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful creation Carol. I can relate to having stuff on your desk ready but not being motivated to do it. I'm like you and move onto something else. You have time so your're lucky. Shabneez x

Carol its a fantastic tag ! Lots of interesting texture and images i love it !
ReplyDeleteMany times I start with no inclination, but once I get started I have the best time with it. This turned out absolutely amazing, Carol! I laughed at your comment about your desk and glasses. That's usually how I end up with splatters.
ReplyDeleteWe all have that more than ones; an idea and picture how you want something to look and at the end you look again and see something different... And than doubt comes in... but he, it's something you made with the person in mind who you made it for and that is the most important thing; you made something super personal! Emjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours and texture. Love those bees! There's a super earthy feel to this. Thanks for sharing this with us at Penny's!

(smiling) Sounds as if you used my splatter technique, my glass mat has some of the loveliest color all over it, as does the back wall, my table and probably the ceiling if I could see that far. As for your tag, it looks like perfect spattering to me. It is a gorgeous tag with all the wonderful details.
