Morning and what a week-last Sunday morning John got up complaining he had something in his eye-nothing-then he kept seeing a shadow and floaters,by the time we went to bad he had coloured flashes-not good.
Monday got an emergancy app at the Diabetic eye clinic was not concerned at all, bored girl taking photos told us to ring optician.Emergancy app at optician on Tuesday revealed (even before an examination)a detached retina gave us a letter to take straight to the eye hospital who I cannot fault and an app for an op on Thursday so now just have to wait and see if sight is in anyway damaged.
I have a card which I made for our youngest son using a pic of his dog(she is an absolutely beautiful dog with not a bad bone in her body, never heard her growl even when ours do to her-she just walks away) to give to our daughter Helen on her birthday. The stamped sentiment was from Pink Frog and the background was recycled packaging which I thought worked with the pic.

I can identify with those symptoms, exactly the same outcome a few years ago. Hopefully the apparently delays have not created any long term problems.
ReplyDeleteA perfect card for Allsorts theme this week, many thanks for joining us Carol.

ah what a beautiful card and I am sure your son will love it ... the doggie is really cute ... sorry to hear about what happened to your dear hubby at the hospital and hope your Thursday appointment is a better experience and the delay has not caused any damage ... gosh what is the NHS coming to ?? stay safe and well Carol xx
ReplyDeleteYour son's dog is adorable and I absolutely believe a dog with a face and ears like that is a sweetheart. Really cute card! Goodness, you have had a week! That doesn't sound like good news and not a reassuring visit at the diabetic eye clinic with the bored girl. I'm feeling not great about medical appointments lately. Does anyone really care? Even left with too many questions and doubts about our Wally, but nowhere to turn here. The state of things is disappointing to say the least. Best of luck and good wishes for John.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sweet Birthday card Carol and fabulous backgrounfd..so sorry to hear about John..Hope the op goes well, I had that op in 1984 and it saved my sight for all these years, so fingers crossed..
ReplyDeleteLuv CHRISSYxx
This card is beautiful and that dog could never be anything but sweet with a face as sweet as that. So sorry to read about John. I am praying that everything will be okay with the operation. Hang in there, Carol. Big hugs
ReplyDeleteI hope Johns eye will be ok, nothing seems easy to sort out these days. Gorgeous card and doggie. Emmax
ReplyDeleteOh that's a lovely photo and a perfect background for her too. Sorry to hear of the problems with hubby's eye and I hope his op goes well on Thursday x
ReplyDeleteAW! What a delightful fave to add to the front of a card, I know your son will LOVE it as I do.
ReplyDeleteAs for the bored girl? It seems so many are these days, it's a job! especially as "patients" are now known as "clients"!!! As in our surgery, care has gone out of the window. I hope that John has no damage to his sight. I would say make a complaint, but a sorry doesn't make up for the negligence. I had a check last week at the Diabetic CLinic, I was told my bloods are Ok, we will see you in 6 months, no checking of feet etc. I and out in 2 minutes, I waited for 15 minutes with no one in front of me. Grrrr.
My hope that all is well with John.

beautiful card and dog ! sorry to hear about John.fingers crossed John is ok x
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful card with a great picture of your son's dog! It's nothing short of a blessing to own a dog with such an even tempered disposition and they are such wonderful pets! I'm sorry about your husband's eye troubles, but it seems all doctors in this day and age could care less about our issues - I'm finding the same results here all too often. I do hope and pray his vision is going to be OK - there's nothing more frightening than the issues of eye sight damage with diabetes. Sending hugs and prayers for a good outcome.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card. Love the dog and she is beautiful. Hope all turns out okay with John’s eye.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about John's eye problem. Hope the appointment goes well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and wonderful dog. Creative Blessings, Tracy x
That background works very well with the lovely picture. She looks like a very happy dog. So sorry to hear about the detached retina, that's nasty. Hope the surgery goes OK and that John copes OK with it xx
ReplyDeleteOh I do hope john is sorted quickly, not nice thing to happen.
ReplyDeleteSuper recycling and what a sweet dog. CarolG
Brilliant idea to use a photo on a card! Thanks for playing at AAA Birthday, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Stay safe and keep crafting!
ReplyDeleteI was so sorry to read about John, a all too common probem with diabetics, the last thing he needs is to loose his sight so I am pleased to hear that the eye hospital took it seriously.
ReplyDeleteLove the oh so cute birthday card, isn't she a beautiful girl? Great layout and colour combi.
Dionne xx
