These days when you see so many people complaining about Hermes/Evri delivery drivers---we have a brilliant regular one who goes above and beyond.
He knows one of our neighbours works night so in bed during the day and another one who works but porch door doesn't lock and as someone is always in here he brings us all the parcels lol. He could make life easy and just take them back or leave on doorstep like some do.We missed him recently and thought he had left but when he came back we discovered his wife had died and his dog died the day after the funeral.
Everyone thought we should show our appreciation but too late for a sympathy card so I made a thanks card and we had a small collection between us all which he really appreciated-but credit where credit is due.I stamped the Bee Crafty Teasel image and used a Thats Crafty stencil. The thanks sentiment was white so covered it in grey oxide and clear embossed -done.

A real heartwarming story Carol, people so really show their appreciation these days and I am sure the poor man really appreciated it, especially at this time of grief. Funnily enough, when I first saw this card, I thought how well it could be used as a sympathy card. It has such a classic monochomatic design.

Oh, Carol, my heart nearly snapped in two when I read about your delivery driver's terrible and complete loss. We are near to losing our Wally and news like this hits close to home. To lose his wife and dog, both is so very sad. It's kind and thoughtful of you to make a lovely clean and simple card for him which shows you do hold him in high regard and appreciate his efforts.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very soft and lovely thank you to send to this poor fellow going through some difficult times! Love the stenciled background along with your clear EP over your sentiment too! I'm sure it was all very much appreciated and how thoughtful of everyone to chip in for him too.
