Morning and I have a couple of cards to show for a GDT spot at Creates and Makes sponsored by All Dressed Up and I was given the beautiful image Oriental Girl-coloured with promarkers.Papers are from The Works-dies are from Sizzix/Elizabeth Craft Designs and La-La Land Crafts-dewdrops are from stash ---and would you believe I strike again!!! I started making a gatefold card not made one for a while--all going well just 3-D the image to one side with 3-D sticky pads--then carried on blissfully adding dies until realisation struck --I glued the side dies onto the other side of the image stopping it from opening--luckily it was just the edges of the fern and is now a gatefold card which opens-phew!!!Think I need a holiday no such luck unfortunately. The first card is from the sponsor and the second card I made for my DIL birthday-now this one went according to plan mind you not that I had one it just sort of evolved as I went along.
The Sunflower stamp is from Chocolate Baroque and masked an old technique but a first for me!The stamped sentiment was a craft mag freebie-so was the edging stamp and I also doodled and faux stitched round the edges. The image was coloured with promarkers.Flowers are from the garden--this card is for my DIL birthday.
Last couple of oddments of Graphic 45 sunflower paper/ribbon/twine/dewdrops/pearls/burlap and fibres are from stash and after previous mishaps yes the image was meant to be at an angle----okay no it wasn't lol but when I put it on straight-it looked wonky sooo wonky it was-I also put glossy accents(yes still my crackle one) on the wings

Two real beauties Carol, the first with the trailing orchids is so pretty and the sunflowers on the second so bright and cheery and a quirky angle is good, have a feeling I might have a few pieces of that G45 lurking somehwere. Many thanks for joining in at penny Black and More August challenge.

ReplyDeleteOooh, look at these pretty cards! I don't know why sunflowers and burlap always go together, but they sure do. Lovely fall card and pretty sitting there with the vase of sunflowers. Love the design and dies on your first card. Turned out great in the end, even with the goof. My favorite banner die.
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards Carol, so many lovely details on the first and I love the beautiful sunflowers on the second one.

Both are very beautiful cards...and I agree with you the slanted panels for your focal point with a shadow background was just right and love all the different textures in your background. Thanks for sharing with us at DOUBLE TROUBLE and please come back with other birthday cards you are creating, and remember to check back on Monday to see what Trouble Maker, Twisted Sister and Double Dare have up their sleeve.
ReplyDeleteIt’s easy to get carried away but luckily you stopped in time to save the gatefold design, it’s such a sweet image, and the leaves and banner arrangements are decorative. The sunflower card is very detailed, yet non fussy to make it suitable for a man. Lucky mishap as I think the design looks great with the image put at an angle.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card and image!!!
