One Layer cards

Another Monday morning,another new week,another new challenge at ARTISTIC INSPIRATIONS and that challenge is wait for it-----One Layer cards and our sponsor is DIGISTAMPS4JOY.I have used their beautiful image "Tulip Basket"coloured with promarkers and I stamped the edges with the edge of another stamp.I stamped a sentiment and cut the small card with a Spellbinders die.To be honest I was dreading making a one layer card but must admit I am happy with the result.

Bingo

Tuesday morning and that means another new challenge at LEJ DESIGNS and the challenge is "Lots of Layers".Mine hasn't got as many layers as I would have liked,but after having to buy a new printer -as Matthew took the printer when they moved house(well it was his and he needs it for work)then I couldn't get the laptop to recognise it(what did it expect a printer to look like anyway!!!)Had to wait for Matthew to call in then I couldn't get it to print aaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!so it ended up being a very quick card this after-noon,hopefully this printer has got over its hissy fit!ANYWAY I used a new digi from Lindsay "Gertrude" at the Bingo,coloured with promarkers,Tim Holtz B.paper,hessian mesh,bulldog clip from stash and die corners,kraft cardstock from Papermill Direct.It's also my birthday today and Ellie and Holly-Anne are coming for lunch instead of staying pack-up at school,and Helen is coming later too.OOH not going to see girls for lunch after all they are both in bed ill with some kind of virus so will have to visit later .

Happy Birthday La-La

Good morning to you all hope you had a great weekend.I was complaining about the quiet house after everyone moved out-THEN I picked Ellie and Holly-Ann up after school on Friday and brought them back for tea WELL it was like two whirlwinds in the house lol,and I went round for a roast dinner on Sunday,O/H stayed at home(doesn't eat out)well to be fair doesn't eat much in either he sat in the garden as was really warm yesterday.
This weeks challenge at TAMMY'S SCRAPIN CORNER is another easy one "Happy Birthday" and I have used the image "La-La" from our sponsor Birdie Brown,coloured with promarkers,coloured cardstock from Papermill Direct,and used dies,dewdrops,liquid pearls and paper from stash.

Wintry Christmas card

Morning everyone and hope your enjoying your weekend and can find time to join our new challenge at One Stitch at a Time another easy peasy one ATG the winner who uses A Stitchy Bear Outlet stamp(bet you have at least one in your images)wins the set of Digis used by the DT in challenge 180.I was given the image "Wintertree" and chose not to add any colour just glamour dust to add to the icy feel.I embossed the linen card (from Papermill Direct)on my score board,used my two new Memory Box dies-Precious Snowflakes(I cut off the bows and added them seperatley) and Pine needle border,ribbon and liquid gems from stash.

Bitter sweet image

Flowers galore and Panpastels

Morning everyone and today is the start of a new challenge at Happy Campers and the challenge is sooooooo easy "Show is Ya Flowers" now how easy is that???and the challenge runs for a month so no excuse really.I made a card posted it but wasn't happy with it soooo deleted it before (hopefully) Kath didnt see it, and I decorated a chipboard heart-from Joanna Sheen,coloured with yellow/orange and red panpastels-my first attempt too-thought it was about time I used them,only had them since March lol.I then stamped the flower image -a freebie stamp from Craft stamper mag onto the heart then onto then onto three different scraps of paper from stash,I cut into the petals for dimension,added buttons and dewdrops and ribbon from stash.

I am using an iphone for taking and uploading pics,BUT I crop and save the images then when I upload them to blog they are still not cropped as I would like-any advice would be appreciated.

Morning everyone from a very cold Kingston upon Hull(and raining when I scheduled this last night)The Tuesday challenge at TWISTED TUESDAY this week is Splatter and Chatter -show us some splatter-you can paint it/spritz it/mist it whatever takes your fancy BUTthe chatter twist is you must use at least two words -not to difficult.I have used "Mud Puddle Boy" image from Meljens designs,coloured with promarkers.I sprayed Mica spray in ancient copper onto the card blank the stamped "ink splats set" from Visible Image,addes ribbon and the two words were part of a freebie stamp from Craft Stamper Craft mag.

New Baby card

Well the house is sooooo quiet,Matthew,Tasha,Ellie and Holly-Ann moved out yesterday and Helen moves out on Monday,so just John and me rattling about in a 4bedroomed house.It does mean I can have my craft room back again though,not much consolation really at the moment!Me and Helen took the girls into town to buy new school shoes WELL it must be easier taking teenagers!!!We finally found some that fitted Holly(4ys) and she said ooh they fit and feel really comfy and as I said FINALLY she carried -on but I don't want them they are not shiny enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ellie(6yrs) meanwhile was trying on boots way to big -but they had heels,she wanted heels that made a noise when she walked and not baby shoes,after half an hour during which Helen almost had a melt down,Holly turned round and said I hope you don't think I'm spending all after-noon in this shop WELL words failed me lol.We finally found two pairs of "suitable" school shoes.The card today is a baby card I made a few weeks ago and not blogged yet but fits a few challenges --the image is Baby 2 by Heather Ellis at Digi stamp characters,coloured with promarkers,ribbled some blue card,and added a couple of dies and tonic punch.Papers and buttons from stash.

All my images GONE !!!

My son has all his work and tattoo images on the computer so I tend to use my laptop,and to stop it getting clogged up and if computer breaks I put all my digi images on a memory stick and what happens --my memory stick has broken the fitting has gone inside sooooo have lost all my digi images!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This image was already printed off but haven't a scanner to copy it eitherAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH-I coloured the image with promarkers and chalked a sky,prima papers-Engraver,corner dies and coloured cardstock from Papermill Direct.

Fourth attempt card!!!

Now I chose this image because I liked it BUT after the fourth attempt the attraction has slightly waned!On the first attempt I messed up the very last part I coloured,the second attempt I decided to colour the skin with my new copics WRONG she ended up looking like a satsuma!Had to print off another image(grandaughters had used the last ones)and my memory stick which I keep all my images on decided not to work???so had to print one off the DT blog,so this simple card has taken me nearly all day!I stamped a phone image on the card blank(linen card from Papermill direct)paper is K&C,buttons,liquid pearls from stash,used my new corner die from Joanna Sheen.The image is "Sweet talk Sassy" finally coloured with promarkers -from Sassy Studio Designs our sponsor this week at ARTISTIC INSPIRATIONS and the challenge is BUTTONS-now how easy is that? she says ironically lol we all have buttons in our stash don't we?course we do.

Spotlight Technique

The house is very quiet at the moment as Matthew,Tasha and grandaughters have gone to Cornwall for a week,they went 5o'clock yesterday morning and came in to give us a kiss and cuddle before they went bless them.They have also got their own house now too and get the keys on the Monday after they come home on the saturday and move in on the 13th,and daughter Helen has also been reconciled with her husband and also moving out-so we are going from seven to two -just me and John(does this mean we have to actually speak to each other now? lol)Luckily they are all just 10mins walk away.
My card today is for the new challenge at 613 Avenue Create "Spotlight Challenge"and this is my first try at this technique and not totally happy with it,not sure if I picked the right image for this technique.The sponsors are-
Sandies samples and Di's Digis.I have used a LOTV rubber stamped image "Little Girls Story time"-I have had this stamp about three years and never used it,I stamped the image twice and cut a circle for the coloured part,faux stitched round the image,the papers are Tim Holtz-crowded attic,tonic border punch and banner die,coloured cardstock from Papermill Direct and added liquid pearls and a gem brad.
