New mixed Media Challenge Blog

Morning everyone and hope you are all ready for our first challenge on a brand new mixed media challenge blog--A Inky Mess-ATG/mixed media-there will be a new challenge on the 25th of every month so plenty of time to getting working on your projects.This month our sponsor is Ikes Art and I have used "Walls of Sadness" coloured with promarkers,I coloured the image grey to reflect the negative sentiment against the coloured background,and balanced this with the more positive words.I made a journal page sprayed with my new Deco Art Misters,stencilled over with a brick stencil and distress inkpad,the brick paper was downloaded from Google and the words are from Crafters Companion.

MDF Wall Hanging

I have a hanging to share with you today -it's MDF coated with my new Deco Art misters,the stamps are a Little Scenic set from Sheena Douglass and the edge one is from textured set from Crafters Companion,I added a small ammount of glamour dust and flicked white acrylic.

ADFD -Morning Dew Fairy

Morning and we have a new ATG challenge starting at Crafting From The Heart,sponsored by ADFD and I used the beautiful image "Morning Dew Fairy" coloured with promarkers and added glamour dust,cardstock from Papermill Direct,Marianne Dies and craft mag freebies,papers from stash.I made a centre stepper card and felt I went overboard a little bit and even took off a couple of embellishments after seeing the first pic lol.

Flirtatious Lady

Morning -can you believe it will be the longest day on Tuesday-and where is our Summer or was that the three days we had a couple of weeks ago??? We have a new challenge starting today at
613 Avenue Create-ATG/optional Create a Tag-we are sponsored by Rick St Dennis and I used the image Flirtatious Hat Lady-coloured with promarkers,cardstock from Papermill Direct,paper/dies/dewdrops/seambinding/border punch and little metal fan charm from stash,I also heat embossed the edges with siver EP also some peel off corners under there.

Wedding Anniversary

Morning and back with my second DT card today which is for Just For Fun challenge at Simply Papercrafts-I made an anniversary card and used an image from Digi Darla(no longer available)coloured with promarkers,cardstock from Papermill Direct,the back layer was embossed with Tattered Lace dots EF then distress inks round edge and stamped round with texture stamp from Crafters Companion,then another layer of card covered with kitchen roll/gesso and stamped,a selection of dies/liquid pears and ribbon from stash.

Criss Cross Card

Morning again and back with my second DT card which is for the ATG challenge at Crafty Girlz and as we have no sponsor this time it is just for fun.I used an image from Eureka Stamps-Cascading Hearts- coloured with promarkers,cardstock from Papermill DirectI made a commissioned criss cross card for a Ruby wedding anniversary,paper from Tattered lace craft mag,lace/seam binding/ribbon/selection of dies and floral insert from stash and verse found on Google-thankfully the card was very much appreciated.

Morning hope you are ready for the new challenge at Get Creative which is ATG/Create your own challenge,I have used stamp/image-Black/browm-sentiment.We are sponsored by Patties Creations and I used "Stacking Flower Pots" (an image I won a couple of weeks ago)coloured with promarkers and cut out,cardstock from Papermill Direct,the B.paper which I then covered up? was from Jane Shasky CD -From the Heart of the Garden,Joanna Sheen Ivy Flourish Die,metal snail charm/twine/hessian and hessian butterfly from stash,the sentiment was a craft mag freebie from a couple of years ago and correct me if I am wrong Vicki but I think the carrot seed pkt was a freebie on her blog a while ago-I discoloured them with distress ink and the carrots with promarkers.

Desk remnants

Something completely different today-this rat image was die-cut off a recycled clothing tag and put onto a book page tag crumpled and distress inked and it just evelved from there using all remnants on my desk,a luggage tag,corrugated cardboard,patch of hessian,cut up coffee stirrers tied with hessian,oddment of brick embossed cardstock,all assembled onto a larger piece of brick embossed card the matted onto black card splashed with selection of cosmic shimmers but this has slightly warped so may have to matt onto larger piece of card or maybe make it into a hanging.

Another First- Painting with Brushos

Morning and the card I have today is just because and inspiration after watching Lesley Wharton demoing Brushos,I bought mine before Christmas but have only had a couple of plays with them sprinkling onto backgrounds but after watching the show decided to use them like watercolours to colour the image and add a few splashes "Flower Jar" from Mos Digital Pencil and must say I loved the result though I say so myself lol.Cardstock from Papermill Direct,B.paper from Craftwork cards/Vintage Flora and Sizzix diecut borderand I decided to keep the layout CAS well as CAS as I can manage (might have to work on that too lol )

Marry Me

Morning and back with my second DT card today which is another ATG and as we have no sponsor-just for fun-this one is for Artistic Inspirations,and I used "Marry Me" from Saturated Canary, coloured with promarkers and added glamour dust,pearlised card from Crafters Companion,a whole assortment of dies from Sue Wilson,Sizzix Memory Box and Crafters Companion,liquid pearls,pearls and ribbon from stash.This was also a requested card.

Vintage Spitfire

Morning and hope you all enjoyed your weekend, I have two DT cards to post today the first one is for Crafting From The Heart and as we have no sponsor this week it's just for fun and ATGI made this card for my sons Fiance for her Grandfatherand was specifically asked for the image.I used Vintage Spitfire from Delicious Doodles,coloured with promarkers,cardstock from Papermill Direct and a selection of papers from stash.I tried to get a tarnished metal effect on the die and used distress stains and black embossing powder-not perfect but happy for a first attempt.Trying quite a few firsts lately lol.

Another watercolour

Morning everyone and hope you are all well today-we have a new challenge at 613 Avenue Create which is ATG/Create a Wedding Stationery Item sponsored by Bugaboo.Due to crossed wires on my part I ended up making an ATG with a sponsor image and I used Floral Trio Frame 1 and I decided to make another watercolour,cardstock from Papermill Direct,matted and layered onto cardstock stamped round edges with Crafters Companion texture stamp,B.paper and fabric covered chipboard butterfly from stash.

Book worm and Brushos

Morning to freezing June had heating on last couple of days and been out with winter coat and boots back on -what happened to Summer???I would like to welcome my latest follower Ilse.WE have a new ATG challenge at Simply Papercrafts starting today with Robyns Fetish sponsoring.I used Bookworm coloured with promarkers,cardstock from Papermill Direct,I already had the background made with gessoed kitchen roll onto cardstock then had added water to leftover Brushos in a palette that I had been trying painting with(card to post in a couple of days)I then stamped round the edge with Crafters Companion Texture stamp and distress ink in marigold round the edges and popped the image on 3-D foam.

Buttercream Babe

Morning everyone and I have two DT cards to post today the first one is for CCC Digi Creations ATG challenge an all time favourite lol.Sponsoring this challenge is The Paper Shelter and Sassy Studio whose image I used-"Buttercream Babe Cinderella"coloured with promarkers and I used a Double Diamond fold which I saw in Quick Cards Made Easy but there are plenty of tutorials on you-tube,also folds flat for posting.Cardstock from Papermill Diect and papers and paper embellishmentsliquid pearls from stash,the little cupcake was drawn on the rosette.
