More Unused Stash

Morning and I have another unused stash card to show-the typewriter is a Tim Holtz one which I have had over five years and never used -the happy birthday is a large wooden Anita's stamp which I have also had over five years and cannot remember ever using it either-ridiculous when you think about it.

I die-cut the typewriter in black and matt silver mirri card which I think is older than the stamp and die! which I used as a drop shadow and put onto 3-D foam pads-matted and layered with the birthday stamp and used an offcut in the typewriter.

I remember learning to type on one of these at school and learning the dreaded shorthand too -hated that but passed so something must have got through lol-Book keeping lessons they were,Miss Rose the teacher and she usd to cover the letters so you learned to touch type using a chart on the wall.
Now due to the light it looks like I used three different shades of white card but they are all the same---honest.

Carol, your card is wonderful. It's funny what is "vintage" now and it doesn't seem like it was that long ago. Great job on cleaning up your stash.

Remember those typewrites as well Carol, I used to translate documents on one as the inevitable mistakes were a nightmare to correct. Please you dusted of the die as it's made a great card.

The lighting at this time of year does nothing to help us display our work to it's best but nothing can hide your creative light Carol. Another stella card, I love how long it has taken you to use all of these elements - but you knew that one day you would need them all and kept them safe.

I too was subjected to learning how to type that way but it never completely took with me and to this day I still look at the keys half of the time!

This is just fabulous Carol! What a very cool die and so glad that you've pulled it out to make your card here to share! I remember the days of taking the typewritting class in school as well. It was the loudest class in the school!! LOL! TFS!!

I learnt typing in such a typewriter, Carol. I remember it was so hard to push the letters! I love your card, my friend. You bring me memories. And, as I see, I am not the only person who has a lot of unused things for years! Thank you. I don't feel guilty any more! Ha ha! Kisses!

This is so delightfully fun and nostalgic. While I was born in the early 80s, my family didn't get their first home commuter until almost two decades later (I got my own first computer in 2003), and I learned to type (at home) on a typewriter as well.

This is such a wonderful card Carol, I love the die and the stamp, as for typing, my mother bought me a typewriter when I was 13, sooooo many years ago and I tried to self teach myself shorthand, didn't work! Little did I think I would be typing everyday at this age LOL.

Carol, I love your cards and this is no exception but I think what I love best about your posts is how you always bring back a memory or two of something that makes me smile.

I too had the typewriter experience and the dreaded shorthand. But like you, I passed and used my skills in the business world. Of course, if I remember that typewriter I am also dating myself - but I have many good memories from those secretarial days! After all, that is how I met my husband;) And now married for 53 years!!!! Big hugs to you.

Hooray for using more not-yet-used stuff! I seem to always be working on that. Really cute card! Love the words in the background as well as coming out of the typewriter, as though they were typed over and over in typing class. I learned on one of these, too. Manual. Also took shorthand. Never used the shorthand, but I used my typing skills my whole working life.

Wonderful! I love typewriter images because they lend themselves to so many words. I learned on a mechanical typewriter, too - but I learned Word Processing at the same time, just as it was being introduced. My first typing job was as a secretary in France...and on an electric typewriter.
Memories and useful images!

Love it, Carol! I'm digging how so many are into pulling out old stuff and creating with it. I don't feel so alone anymore! And I find 99% of it is still totally usable, too! Maybe even in voque again, what comes around goes around, xoxoxo
