A Journal Page and Art

Morning and hope you are all staying safe and healthy with plenty of toilet rolls lol I am stressing and not sure when we will see Grandaughters again!!!.My sons studio has closed and his partners nursery has closed too-my daughter works in a care home so is still working-eldest sons job has closed but his wife is an OT -in mental health and is working from home.
Could I just share my daughters first try at using oil paints,

I have ajournal page to share today using Carte Postale from AALL&Create-a couple of texture stamps round the edges-a postage stamp-postcards stamped on to kraft card and cut out from an old World Travel rubber stamp set from Rubber Stampede I have had for quite a few years.
A couple of pieces of book pages and the background was a mop up of inks from mat -I drew lines round the stamp with a fineliner pen and ruler and added shadow round the postcards and book page scraps.

Carol that is a gorgeous journal page. I don't know why a journal just scares me. Your granddaughter did an awesome job with the oils...I am totally impressed. Well with people sitting on their as# so much while this crisis is going on, they will need all the TP to wipe their hemorrhoids, lol. Here is the US people are not as active as you are abroad which is unfortunate. Take care and be safe. Hugs.

That painting is stunning Carol, I know how proud you must be, your page is gorgeous, best we all try to keep as busy as possible. I miss the family, especially my grandchildren so much, we spend our lives together living so close so thats the hard part for me, but I am really worried about my daughter Carla, she teaches and has to keep the school going for the at risk workers children, it scares me to death, but what can we do. Have a lovely mother day, good job we can all email or message each other.xxx

If this is your daughter's first try with oil paints, I see a bright future for her art! The painting is just gorgeous! Loving your journal page with all the collage work too! Artistic talent definitely runs in your family :)

What a talent your Daughter has, oil paints are not an easy thing to master but I would say your Dear Daughter is a natural. Loving your journal page, those little post cards really add that touch of vintage.
Wishing you a very Happy Mother's Day in these uncertain times, Stay safe & carry on crafting Tracey xx

Your daughter's painting is beautiful Carol, she is very talented.
A super journal page, lots of great details. My eldest is a teacher so he is still working, the youngest is working from home and me and hubby are keeping ourselves to ourselves except for walking the dog which is easy to do in isolation as we have lots of quiet, open space in our area.
Keep safe and look after yourself.

I love your journal page Carol and your daughter's oil painting is absolutely outstanding. She is so talented, so I guess she must take after her Mum. I hope it's not too long before we can see and hug our grandchildren again but I'm not too optimistic at this point as I think it will definitely get worse before it gets better. I just hope that we can all stay safe until it passes. Take care Carol and keep on crafting x

A very lovely journal page Carol, travel really makes the perfect subject for your page, so inspiring.

It seems that your whole family is very talented, what a fabulous painting, I cannot believe it is her first attempt at oils.

These are sobering times for all of us and most of us are worried about our family and are avoiding them, for both their good and our own, but life can then become very lonely and depressing. It is important to look after you mental health as well as your physical health, one way of doing this is to make sure you do things you enjoy, like crafting.

Stay safe my dear friend and continue to act sensibly.

Dionne xx

It's a funny old world right nowCarol and don't see it improving any time soon and it's hard accepting some of the changes imposed on us not least seeing family. Eldest Granddaughters wedding in May is cancelled, unable to book for next year as most providers were booked long before all of this so we are into 2022.

I love, love, love your daughters scene and the intensity of colours, beautifully done. And your mixed media page equally, I'm still resisting Aaall and Create stamps as in honest I have far more that I can work with all ready which comes of Hochanda shows coming round so quickly but I do have a good few of their stencils.

Stay safe and well,

B x

Your daughter's painting is amazing Carol. Definitely has a flair! Tell her to keep at it!! Your journal page is just beautiful, now we know where the flair comes from! It is terrifying out there at the minute and I find myself flying off the handle at the slightest thing. I need to get myself in check and settle down. We are all the in same boat but hopefully there will be light at the end of this tunnel soon. Take care xx

Very nice creations, well done!

But it's weird!

Good luck.
