Smash Your Stash Journal Challenge

Morning and last Saturday of the month means Smash Your Stash journal challenge with Vicki of Stamped Smiles. Hope you will check out her block as she makes amazing journal pages and cards, the prompt this month is "Wood"

Not happy with this at all-the idea worked perfectly in my head !!! The wooden board effect background I made embossing every inch then dragging a couple of green and brown ink pads down the card, I then swiped the ink pad down the die-cut gate and quite liked the distress effect just didn't transfer well in the photo-trust me looks a lot better effect in real life lol-the gate didn't stretch across so cut two pieces of stone effect paper for the side, the butterflies and little Ladybirds are wooden, a couple of die cut leaves behind the gate -the shaped Crafters Companion paper was found in oddments bag and I though it would look like the end of a shed ???

Carol, this is absolutely brilliant! I can't believe that we both had the same idea in mind with the background! I love the colors you've used on yours! Did you use white for your base? I used kraft color for mine. I LOVE that gate and the effect you did with it on that too! Great page and inspiration Carol as always! Well done and so fun!

Looks good to me Carol, so often we have this idea and when finished not what we planned but sometimes the deviation in design in good.

So often our creations turn out totally differently from what we thought they would!! I think this page is beautiful, the 'wood' background is very effective, the arched gateway is gorgeous.

The rustic charm of your gate paired with the woodgrain background creates such a cozy, storybook feel—like peeking into a secret garden tucked behind a shed. The ink dragging technique adds beautiful texture, and those little wooden critters bring such warmth and whimsy. Even if the photo doesn’t capture every detail, the heart behind it shines through so clearly.
