Stamps and a Stencil

I would like to welcome my new follower-JULIE -and I have another Tracy Evans inspired card.

The background was made using the stencil monoprint technique-I have used this technique a few times but didn't know it actually had a name lol.
The stencil is from Imagination Crafts and I used oxide inks, also inked round the edges using a piece of card as a guide and working outwards with the ink.I then stamped and heat embossed the rose from Honey Doo Crafts and coloured with oxide ink, texture stamp from Lisa Horton and stamped sentiment from HOTP.I made the spotlight round the flower using a circle of card and oxide ink from centre of the circle outwards to create the spotlight then doodled round the edge for definition-splatters using a Graphik line painter pen and a strip of dictionary paper to finish.

This is beautiful, Carol - so pretty and full of little bits of intriguing interest. I've done exactly the same with the monoprinting... just another way of using something?

All the work that went into this technique was well worth it, because you're left with one stunning card! I love how that rose was spotlighted!

Your card is fabulous, Carol! I love the background and the popping flower. Thank you so much for the link for stencil monoprint technique. As I am still new in card making I did not know this technique and it seems easy and very interesting. Hugs, my friend.

I adore this Carol, the layers of colour, subtle background pattern and then that beautifully spotlighted Rose. Not sure if I've said before but I'm also a big Fan of Tracy's week.

We had another strike last night, still assessing the head count, but already found several bodies, it's so cruel but as I always have to remind myself it's Nature. Biggest problem is that instead of going to the houses at dusk to be shut away in safety some insist on roosting in trees and low branches.

You have used a very interesting technique on your background (it is another of the things I would love to watch you do). The circle around part of the image is very effective.

Have a lovely day.
