Morning and we have a "Mirror Stamping" challenge at A Place To Start.I went on youtube and checked it out as never done this before and almost never did this time either! Most of them said use a silicone mat which I don't have -or acetate which I tried twice with different stamps and smudged them -about to give up and go ATG-tried with stamping platform another two no nos and after about 4 attempts with this seagull stamp from stampin up finally managed it with a stamping block and added a bit of colour with promarkers.I added a can ring pull covered in Seth Apter Baked Earth embossing powder and a strip of numbers from inside kitchen roll inner.
As it was only a small stamp was going to make a bookmark but decided to make a header for one of my journal page inserts so quite pleased with result.

I can imagine just how difficult this was well done on persevering and creating a fabulous header for your journal page
I've struggled with this technique before and gave up in the end, but you have made a lovely header for your journal page. You must have more patience than me :) x
I know my comment won't be here as I forgot that pesky robot.
Worked out really beautifully Carol, I've tried lots of way over the years and always go back to acetate, taking that to the card rather than the other way round.

Well done..I have never managed to do this without making a smuggy mess....take care xxx
Oooh Carol, I'm intrigued - need to google this. Yours looks fabulous :-)

Very nice work as always - you did a great job
Oh well done on persevering with this difficult technique- I've tried it once or twice- failed miserably :( - but you've done a really great job. Thanks for playing along at Catch the Bug this week.

Well I'm glad you continued through getting an image that worked and it turned out fabulous! Love the coloring and how you've created your AJ page with it! That mirror stamping can be a bit tricky sometimes. TFS! HUGS
It looks as if it worked out well in the end and does make a good header. Mirror stamping is not something I've tried too often, but I've usually used my brayer, less chance of smudging than with acetate.

You did well, Carol. I think I'd have given up. It's a long time since I did any mirror stamping but I still have the stamp we used to use at the time...maybe one day - just not now, lol. Love your birds! Great way to use the image.

In the end it appears to me you did a great job on this! I saw a video about mirror stamping with the MISTI. Have not tried it yet, but it looked like it would work. Maybe not.
Very good use for the small stamp ..Lis
Looks fabulous Carol, love the tab and great header for a journal page, I used to do this many years ago, I had a red rubber blank stamp that you stamped the image on then stamped with the blank stamp..make sense?..it was at least 4x4" square..

Looks great Carol, I also didn't have a silicone mat, took a few goes, but got there in the end. Cass

Terrific header for a page. The longer image is ideal. You have so many ideas.
I have never tried this myself either Carol and not sure if I would have the patience that you had. But worth it in the end. It looks brilliant!
That is a very pretty journal page and love the heading. Very cool! Glad you joined us at Krafty Chicks.
Great mirror stamping. I've always failed miserably at this technique but certainly appreciate the effect.
I've heard about mirror stamping but never tried it. You have certainly got a good result with it and I love how you use odd bits and pieces like the can pull. CarolG
Oh wow, it is years and years since I did any mirror stamping. To be honest I was never a big fan, it seemed to be too much effort for a half hearted result - and I have a wood mounted silicon pad ...... somewhere. You have done an amazing job, nice clear results, with some very interssting embellishments.

Brilliant. You are such a clever lady and think you should write a book with all your techniques, I for one would definitely be interested! Michelle x
I've never tried this technique but it certainly looks impressive!
